Why Repair Your Laminate?
Laminate flooring is durable, but when it chips or scratches, it can’t be sanded down like solid wood.
Many people believe that a single damaged plank means the entire floor has to be ripped up—especially if that plank is in the middle of the room.
At Manor Floor Fix, we use advanced restoration techniques to repair the damage in situ.
Whether it's a dropped kitchen knife, furniture scratches, or unsightly "gapping," we provide a surgical fix that saves you the cost and upheaval of a new floor.
Our Specialist Laminate Repair Services:
Chip & Impact Repair
Dropped objects often leave "white" craters in the laminate surface, exposing the fibreboard core.
The Fix: We use high-grade hard wax resins, custom-blended on-site to match the exact colour and grain of your floor.
The Result: The structural integrity is restored, preventing moisture from entering the core and causing the board to swell.
Scratch & Scuff Restoration
Heavy furniture or grit underfoot can leave dull scuffs or deep gouges.
The Fix: We apply specialist levelling resins and fine-surface pigments to "re-grain" the area by hand.
The Result: The scratch is filled and sealed, blending seamlessly with the surrounding planks.
Gapping & Joint Repair
Changes in temperature can cause laminate planks to shift, leaving "gaps" between the boards.
The Fix: We use professional floor-pulling tools and joint-bonding techniques to close the gaps without dismantling the floor.
This type of repair has it's limitations, as closing one gap can create another somewhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Is the repair waterproof?
A: Yes. Our resins are non-porous and designed to seal the surface, protecting the moisture-sensitive core of the laminate.
Q: Can you fix laminate that has water damage/swelling?
A: If the boards have significantly buckled or "blown" due to a leak, repair is usually not possible. We specialise in surface damage (chips and scratches).
Q: How long does it take?
A: Most individual chips or scratches can be repaired in about 1 hour.

Damaged Laminate
Cracks, Dents or Breaks: Laminate surfaces can crack, dent or break when heavy and sharp objects fall on to them.
If your laminate has smaller cracks, you should get the repair done as quickly as possible.
If left unrepaired, small cracks can become large cracks over time, resulting in broken planks and panels. Broken planks can’t be repaired.
Burns are another common repair - pans placed on a work surface, candles, cigarettes etc can easily cause a burn mark in your laminate, leaving an unsightly mark.
Laminate finishes are popular because it’s cheaper than wood or stone, easy to install, easy to clean and available in a wide range of colours and finishes.
However, despite its toughness, scratches and chips are common and, against the smooth appearance, such damage can be very noticeable.
